Life is like a Sheet of Paper...

One can look at each and every one of us as a sheet of paper. When we are born, our papers are blank, crisp and new. as we grow and learn our papers are written and drawn on in all kinds of ways. Children are so quick to learn new things and are open because they have a bit more free space on theirs to work with, so they can color and draw and make magical things all they want.

But as we all know those times go quickly and pretty soon we are off to school to learn new things and the "rules" on how to use our sheet of paper. So in order to make some room we have to erase some of our colorful drawings and pictures and replace them with letters, words, and numbers. This process is long and takes us right to our adulthood. By this time, our paper is full of rules and words and (gasp...) fine print, in order to fit everything in. This is why  it is a lot harder to teach an adult new things as their paper is so full already it is quite hard to fit things in and they don't want to erase much more...
So what usually goes is the older stuff, the bulky pictures and magical things they drew as a child.

This simple theory can explain a lot about us as people and our minds. I know from personal experience that whenever I learn something new, something old gets erased. This theory also prooves true witth discrimination and self esteem. If all the things that we are taught to write down are hateful, discriminatory things, it is a lot harder to fit in any good things, but not impossible as long as they rewrite things before they go over it with PERMANENT MARKER...
With self esteem, if all the words that we are taught are hurtful put downs, they will always outweight the few positive things when we read through our story...and if you think about it, it's a lot easier to write something small and petty than something great. The paper doesn't just represent us mentally, but also physically. As we go though our lives, so does the paper and it will get wrinkled and some things will not be eraseable, but that is what gives our story some character. So knowing all this, there are a few things that everyone should remember...

- The entire stores of our lives are kept on these single sheets of paper...

- Everything you do in life will be in your story, so choose wisely!

- Be kind to other people's papers as paper is like life and is fragile and easily torn...what you do can end up in someone elses story, so why not make it a good part?

- it's just a rough copy, it is never too late to edit out the things you do not need

- And finally...always, ALWAYS leave space to keep your colorful drawings and magical things because as we all know, those are the best stories to read...
